This page explains what data Your Folio collects and how it is used. We keep this deliberately simple: the backtester requires no account, no signup and no personal details to use.
Information we collect
We do not require or store personal information to use the tool. You can run backtests without providing a name, email address or any account credentials. Your portfolio inputs (tickers, weights and date settings) are saved against an anonymous random identifier held in your browser's URL so your work is restored when you return. That identifier is not linked to your identity.
If you choose to contact us through the contact form, we store the email address and message you submit so we can reply. We use it for nothing else and never sell it.
Cookies and third-party advertising
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic — which pages are visited and roughly where visitors come from. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify individuals. Google's practices are described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Because we hold almost nothing — no accounts, and only what you voluntarily send via the contact form — such requests are usually satisfied by deleting your message. Contact us and we will action it.
Data retention and security
Contact-form messages are retained only as long as needed to respond and are then removed. Saved portfolio inputs expire over time and contain no personal data. The site is served over HTTPS.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
We may update this policy; the "last updated" date above will always reflect the current version.
